Ruzhou Origin · Original Mineral Glaze · Fine Crackle · 180ml Large Capacity · Water Jar Form

Ru ware stands as the foremost of China's Five Great Kilns of the Song dynasty, renowned for its legendary "sky-after-rain" celadon glaze . Produced for only approximately 20 years in the late Northern Song period (1086–1125), authentic Ru pieces are exceptionally rare, with fewer than 100 complete examples known worldwide . This master cup draws from that imperial tradition, crafted in Ruzhou, Henan—the historic production center where Ru kilns first achieved their celebrated jade-like glaze.

The cup is made from local Ruzhou ash clay and glazed with an original mineral formula designed to replicate the classic Ru ware celadon. The glaze is rich in iron oxide and fired in a reduction atmosphere, producing the distinctive sky-blue hue —a color that shifts subtly with changing light, appearing at times pale and ethereal, at other times deeper and more substantial.

The glaze surface displays the characteristic fine crackle network—delicate, web-like fissures formed during cooling as the glaze contracts faster than the clay body.

The cup's most striking feature is the pair of hand-pinched tiger heads attached to opposite sides of the exterior wall.
