Jianshui purple clay does not have the unique dual pore structure found in Yixing purple clay, as it is made from a single pore clay. However, because of this, Jianshui purple clay is not subject to the strict " one pot, one tea" rule that applies to Yixing purple clay teapots. The main reason for this is that Jianshui purple pottery teapots are very delicate and do not have the same strong adsorption character as Yixing clay. A polished Jianshui teapot can even appear as smooth as if it were glazed, making it less adsorbent, yet more versatile in brewing different types of tea.
