This teacup is handcrafted in Jingdezhen using a Ru-style crackle glaze technique.
It is inspired by classical Ru ware aesthetics, but is not produced in Ruzhou.
This Ru Kiln–style Douli teacup is crafted using traditional Song Dynasty techniques, blending material science, fire, and time into a quietly refined vessel.
Agate-infused glaze creates a texture that is not jade, yet surpasses jade—soft, warm, and smooth to the touch, with a delicacy reminiscent of a baby’s skin. Over time, the fine cicada-wing crackle gradually develops elegant golden lines through daily use, giving each cup a unique character.
The teacup features a precision wheel-cut foot, angled at 45 degrees, revealing a natural flint-red fire mark formed during high-temperature firing at 1350°C. The surface is refined and smooth, never abrasive to the hand.
Made with the inspired Ash Grey Clay body, the clay is carefully selected and repeatedly washed. Under reduction firing, iron elements transform into soft ash tones, creating a body color reminiscent of incense embers after burning—subtle, calm, and deeply atmospheric.
The base of the cup is stamped with “Fu & Lu”, symbolizing good fortune and longevity.
At first glance, it appears as a classic Douli (conical hat–shaped) teacup, dignified and modest in form. When tea is poured in, a hidden gourd-shaped reflection emerges within the celadon glaze—Qiankun revealed in tea, a poetic balance of heaven, earth, and harmony.
Ideal For
